Gimme a Tea Break!

Two traveling anteaters must work together in this hectic co-op game to prepare exotic tea inside their steam locomotive while the ingredients try to resist and nasty weather conditions turn this job into a demanding affair.

Get on the train and cook some tea! It’s Free!!

For this project I created the level design of the hub and the customer environments. Part of my tasks was to help with the balancing of the levels. At the start of the project, I helped to create the core of the gameplay as well as to define the behavior of the plants. Within the project, I helped with the adjusting and rework of mechanics.

In Addition, I had the responsibility to model and texture the whole environment of the game. I modeled and textured all assets within and outside of the train. I also wrote parts of the dialogue within the game.

Challenges

As our game is a cooperative game for two players one interesting challenge was how to force the players to work together. For that we created the mechanic that one player had to open the pot via a button and the second player had to throw in the plant (see the video below). We also implemented that one player can lift up another player in order to reach high places like a flying plant or broken train parts which need repair. Beautiful chaos keeping the players active and having to adjust their behavior on the fly.
